Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie n' Oreo Brownie Bar

That's a mouthful in itself!!!

So yes I also like to bake -- notice I didn't say cook. Cooking scares me... I know it's stupid but it does. I think I'm more afraid of messing up which again is stupid but oh well... I am getting there slowly but surely.... But anyways back to baking!!!
I first saw my foodINSPIRATION on pinterest a while back from www.kevinandamanda.com and wanted to try it. How could you resist? It's chocolate chip cookie with Oreos on top and brownie on top of that!!!! Seriously!?!
I chose to follow the Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip recipe and I got a Betty Crocker brownie mix.

First I made my chocolate chip cookie dough

After putting it in my 9 x 13 pan I topped it with Oreos

Then I covered it all with the brownie mix

I covered it with foil and popped it in the oven for 30 minutes @ 350 degrees F. Then I removed the foil and baked it for an additional 20 minutes. (the recipe says 15-25 minutes) I let it cool and nicely waited for the hubby to get home from work to try it.
Drumroll please..............

BAM!!!

My brownie layer didn't come out as thick as the foodINSPIRATION but it was still amazing!!! Very rich. AND the hubby approved!!! Job well done! We ate ours plain but I think some vanilla ice cream would be great and would help with the richness...

I put some wax paper in the pan which I usually prefer to go without and I wish I had because it ended up sticking to the cookie and I had to peel it off in strips and bits... I'm sure I did it wrong so any advice on that matter would be great!!!
I also chose to use regular Oreos instead of double stuffed because the hubby doesn't like those.
In conclusion-----> GO MAKE IT!!! Let me know what you think!!!

LOVEya

Why Hello!

Here we go!!!

I'm really excited to finally start a blog. I get so inspired looking through other peoples blogs that I wanted to pass it on. I love crafting, decorating, party planning and especially doing them with my friends and family. And seeing as we are all just made of money nowadays I love being able to do something beautiful and creative BUT budget friendly.

By the way, my name is Holly. Nice to meet you!!! I'm a wife and a mother to an amazing husband and two amazing kids. I'm currently going to school to be a science teacher... someday I will be done... But enough of me for now, I'll do a "ME" post later.

I really hope that this will be just as fun for you as it is for me! Thanks for stopping by!
