To all the M&Ms out there!!!

Well today was the first day of school and I sent my babies on their way... My little man Zane started 2nd grade this year, baby girl Chase went back to daycare and I am doing another semester at TCC. Over the weekend I helped my sister-n-law Maura (who is a teacher) do her classroom. Now this wasn't your normal hang up posters and move around desks -- this was a total overhaul!!! But I'll talk about that more another time, what I do want to talk about is the gift I made for her. We wanted to do something special for her because she got a job at a new school and this is what I came up with.

Awhile back me and the hubs were window shopping in The Container Store and I came across these guys

Happle Container

I automatically thought TEACHER GIFT!!! I went with the red one because it's more teacherish to me but the green one would be cute too... Who doesn't love a Granny Smith?

I browsed Pinterest for some ideas and was inspired by these two

here

So I got to work!
I started by going to Microsoft Word and making a card to go inside the apple and came up with this
I tweaked it a little by using different fonts for each color -- I love it!!!

I also wanted to add the "M & M" line so....

The prettiest apples have leaves... and this is one pretty apple!

And here she is all together!!!

And of course you can't forget the M&Ms... Four bags of peanut butter M&Ms to be exact!

And guesss what... She LOVED it!!! I hope y'all do to!!!

Save the Date!

It's been a while since I've posted anything... sorry blog world!
There... I feel much better!!!

So this year my Mema will be turning 85 and my mother has decided to throw her a surprise birthday party with all our family. Seeing as I LOVE to make invitations and things on the computer she asked me to make some Save the Dates. After looking around for some ideas I came up with this.
I made this on my plain Microsoft Word program. I love downloading new fonts and with this I ended up downloading quite a few plus a few more just for fun. The hubby thinks we should get a hole puncher and punch out the month and date. Which I like a lot. I've also seen it where you can get a gel pen and just circle. I don't know yet if I'm going to be doing the formal invite as well but if I do I will post it. Hope ya'll like!!!

LOVEya

UPDATE: I printed out the Save the Dates. I didn't have a hole puncher that could reach the date or the month so I just circled them. Hope y'all like!
